DA "Dirty Tricks" to blame for Posters lost
The Cape Party has lost 2500 posters in 3 weeks around the City of Cape Town. Reports from Cape Party candidates and activists suggest that Cape Party posters have been "replaced" by DA boards says Cape Party spokeperson, Adrian Kay.
"The DA is known in political circles as being masters of the dark arts and we strongly suspect that it is they who are responsible for this massive loss" said Kay. "The DA's strategy is to bleed opposition parties dry before election day and then to use their corporate-sponsored financial resources to bribe voters with food parcels and T-shirts on election day."
Kay urged the public to notify the IEC and the police if they saw anyone removing posters belonging to any political party. "The Cape Party is committed to having free and fair elections. The public detests this type of low-skulduggery, and frankly this is why politics has such a stigma attached to it."
The DA had earlier put in a formal letter of complaint to the IEC against the Cape Party, when the Cape Party beat it to putting up posters. This was rightly rejected by the IEC who pointed out that CAPE was in compliance with the DA-led City's own by-law. Kay went on to say "They simply didn't read their own by-law but this shows that DA believes that it was born to rule."
